Sep 2006 – Nov 2008 Team Lead – RTFI/Software Developer, Wall Street
On Demand, Boulder, Colorado
· Promoted to Team Lead – RTFI after 1 year as Software Developer for
the Data Acquisition Group (DAG).
· Created a new data acquisition team to perform feed integration for
WSOD institutional products. Hired, trained and mentored developers.
Performed both technical lead and project management roles.
· Designed and implemented project solutions using Extract, Transform
and Load (ETL) ad-hoc tools, SQL Server, jscript, perl, and XML/XSLT
tools.
· Developed and emphasized standards, conventions and efficient
technical workflow processes.
· Performed complex analysis and problem resolution under tight
deadlines. Resolved production support issues.
· Gathered project requirements and created design specifications
through collaboration with internal technical teams and business-side
stakeholders. Projects emphasized robust meta-data and

· Designed and implemented an XML schema to represent

· Developed software using T-SQL for CICJIS , a distributed software
system that provides real-time data sharing among five Colorado
criminal-justice agencies.
· As a CICJIS-central liaison, worked closely with client agencies and
team members to gather requirements, develop new functionality, and
coordinate inter-agency testing.
· Provided leadership to design new distributed software modules to
accommodate client-system upgrades.
· Worked closely with CICJIS client agencies to identify and resolve
system and data issues.

LoadRunner/ProTune applications.

performance-tuning analysis.

· Worked on a migration project to port a complex order-management
system from OS/2 to Solaris.
· Converted IBM's Open Class Library (OCL) to equivalent C++
standards-compliant classes on Solaris.
· Used the C++ Standard Library extensively, including the Standard
Template Library (STL).
· In cases where class emulation was not applicable, used STL
constructs to replace OCL code with equivalent functionality.
Performed extensive QA testing.
· Developed a test harness in C++ utilizing linked lists for automated
system testing.

C++ Library, STL and GNU debugger.
· Converted IBM REXX scripts into equivalent bash shell scripts.

· Ported Rogue Wave (RW) C++ library tools (DB, Tools, Threads,
Standard C++ Library ) to unsupported platforms. Ported a complex
build system using shell scripts.
· Researched target OS/compiler features and modified C++ code
accordingly.
· Provided consulting services to clients regarding RW products.
· Designed, developed and presented training courses for RW products,
with emphasis on the database product. Course materials included C++
code examples and hands-on labs using RW products.

Oct 1998 - Oct 2000 Senior Software Developer/Tech Lead, CorrLogic,

· Developed C/Pro*C code using PL/SQL on multiple UNIX platforms.
· Performed full life-cycle development, including requirements
gathering, design, development and deployment. Worked directly with
customers to identify system requirements and resolve issues.

Mar 1997 - Jul 1998 Senior Software Developer, Axent Technologies,
Salt Lake City, Utah
· Developed software for Axent's ESM product, a client/server-based
enterprise security assessment tool.
· Developed code in C on multiple UNIX platforms and NT emphasizing
client/server (TCP/IP sockets), UNIX system and network programming,
and system administration skills.

· Implemented a robot Collision Detection System to prevent collisions
between an operator-controlled robot arm and surrounding structures.
Developed code in C on a real-time UNIX-based platform (VxWorks).
Gained extensive knowledge of serial communications, TCP/IP socket
programming, the VxWorks RTOS, and Force computers.
· Developed a Vision Inspection System in C to analyze and detect
breaches in nuclear fuel-element rods.
· Performed full life-cycle development of a Data Acquisition System
for the Fuel Cycle Facility control system. Developed code in C,
integrated hardware and software components in a distributed environment.
